By using Cadence, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Cadence.

  1. Cadence Is Training Guidance, Not Medical Advice

Cadence provides fitness, running, recovery, route, weather, and training guidance. Cadence is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, emergency services, or injury prevention guarantees.

Recovery scores, check-ins, pain or injury inputs, plan adaptations, race predictions, effort recommendations, weather adjustments, route suggestions, workout suggestions, and coaching content are estimates for general fitness purposes only. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, or inappropriate for your personal health situation.

You are responsible for exercising safely. Stop exercising and seek appropriate help if you experience severe pain, chest pain, dizziness, fainting, shortness of breath, or other concerning symptoms. Consult a qualified medical professional before beginning or changing an exercise program, especially if you have medical conditions, injuries, or concerns.

  1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Cadence. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Cadence only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

  1. Your Responsibilities

You agree to:

Provide accurate information when using training, recovery, route, data-source, and subscription features. Use Cadence safely and lawfully. Follow traffic laws, trail rules, event rules, property rules, and local safety requirements. Avoid relying on Cadence as your only source of safety, navigation, pacing, health, weather, or medical decision-making. Check your surroundings and route conditions before and during outdoor activity. Keep your device charged and use good judgment during outdoor activity. Use third-party integrations only for accounts and data you are authorized to access.

  1. Training Plans, Predictions, and Adaptations

Cadence may adapt your training based on your goals, workouts, recovery check-ins, Apple Health data, Strava data, GPS activity, weather, effort ratings, pain inputs, and other available signals.

Cadence does not guarantee that you will improve, avoid injury, reach a race goal, achieve a predicted time, or receive a perfectly accurate workout recommendation. Training results vary by person and depend on many factors outside Cadence’s control.

  1. Location, GPS, Maps, Routes, Weather, and Live Activities

Cadence may use GPS, location, maps, route data, and weather information to track runs, calculate pace and distance, display routes, suggest running loops, support Live Activities, and create shareable route assets.

GPS, map, route, elevation, pace, weather, distance, and route-suggestion data may be inaccurate, outdated, incomplete, or unavailable. Suggested routes may include roads, paths, parks, trails, sidewalks, or areas that are closed, restricted, unsafe, private, or unsuitable for running. You are responsible for verifying that any route is legal, safe, accessible, and appropriate before using it.

Do not use Cadence in a way that distracts you from your surroundings or creates unsafe conditions.

  1. Apple Health and Device Data

Cadence may integrate with Apple Health and device sensors if you grant permission. You control these permissions through iOS and Apple Health settings.

Cadence is not responsible for errors, delays, missing data, or inaccuracies from Apple Health, GPS, motion sensors, Apple Watch, third-party devices, operating system services, or other connected sources.

  1. Strava and Third-Party Data Sources

Cadence may allow you to connect optional third-party data sources, including Strava. By connecting Strava, you authorize Cadence to access, process, and store the Strava data you approve so Cadence can provide features such as activity import, training-history analysis, pace trends, mileage calibration, elevation context, PR context, and personalized training recommendations.

Strava is optional. Cadence is not Strava and is not endorsed by Strava unless expressly stated by Strava. Your use of Strava is governed by Strava’s own terms, policies, and account settings.

Third-party integrations may change, break, become unavailable, require reauthorization, be rate-limited, or be discontinued. Cadence is not responsible for outages, missing data, delayed syncs, changes to third-party APIs, authorization failures, or restrictions imposed by Strava or other providers.

You may disconnect Strava where Cadence provides that control or through your Strava account settings. Disconnecting a provider may stop future sync but may not automatically remove previously imported data unless you delete it in Cadence or request deletion.

  1. Supabase and Account Infrastructure

Cadence may use Supabase to provide anonymous authentication, secure user identifiers, provider connection state, OAuth token storage, provider sync, and normalized imported activity data. This infrastructure supports app functionality and does not create a public Cadence account profile unless Cadence separately offers that feature.

You agree that Cadence may use this infrastructure to operate connected data-source features and related app functionality.

  1. User Content and Sharing

Cadence may allow you to create, upload, save, or share content such as profile details, photos, notes, routes, run cards, challenge entries, avatars, handles, and other materials (“User Content”).

You represent that you have the rights necessary to use and share your User Content. You grant Cadence a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, display, and use User Content as needed to operate Cadence and provide the features you choose to use.

When you share content outside Cadence, you are responsible for what you share and who can see it.

  1. Community and Challenge Features

Cadence may include route, challenge, ghost-race, or community features. Challenge codes, route metadata, creator names or handles, avatars, distance, target times, and related information may be visible to other users who access the challenge or code.

You agree not to submit abusive, misleading, unlawful, infringing, unsafe, or harmful content. We may remove or restrict access to content or features if we believe they violate these Terms or create risk.

  1. Cadence Pro Subscriptions

Cadence may offer paid subscriptions, including Cadence Pro. Subscription pricing, trial eligibility, renewal period, and included features are shown before purchase.

Purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.

You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. If Cadence offers a free trial or introductory offer, eligibility is determined by Apple and may be limited. At the end of a trial, the subscription renews at the displayed price unless canceled in time. Refunds are handled by Apple according to Apple’s policies.

  1. Third-Party Services

Cadence may use or integrate with third-party or platform services, including Apple Health, Apple Maps, Apple WeatherKit, Apple CloudKit/iCloud, StoreKit, Strava, Supabase, Superwall, and system sharing tools.

Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms, policies, permissions, account settings, and availability. Cadence is not responsible for third-party services, data, APIs, policies, outages, or changes.

  1. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Misuse Cadence or interfere with its normal operation. Attempt to access data, accounts, systems, or integrations you are not authorized to access. Scrape, copy, export, or misuse third-party data in violation of applicable terms. Use Cadence, Strava data, Apple Health data, or other user data for advertising, resale, surveillance, or unauthorized model training. Reverse engineer, resell, exploit, or misuse Cadence except as allowed by law. Use Cadence to create unsafe routes, harass others, violate laws, or infringe rights.

  1. Intellectual Property

Cadence, including its software, design, branding, logo, content, and features, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you ownership of Cadence.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, exploit, or misuse Cadence except as allowed by law.

  1. App Availability and Changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue Cadence or any feature at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Cadence after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

  1. Disclaimer of Warranties

Cadence is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, availability, non-infringement, and suitability for your health, training, race, route, or safety needs.

  1. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cadence and its providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, personal injury, training outcomes, race outcomes, route errors, weather errors, third-party integration failures, subscription issues, or other claims arising from your use of Cadence.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some limitations may not apply to you.

  1. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to Cadence if you violate these Terms, misuse the app, create risk, or if required by law. You may stop using Cadence at any time.

  1. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the developer or entity that operates Cadence, excluding conflict of law rules, unless local law requires otherwise.

  1. Apple Terms

If you downloaded Cadence from the Apple App Store, Apple is not responsible for Cadence or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Cadence. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
